Dexter Shoe Co. was founded in 1957 in Dexter ME. The company manufactured shoes in Maine until 2001 when all production was moved off-shore. The company now markets bowling, golf and street shoes. <br><br> Dexter entered the bowling market in 1958 and is now the number one seller of bowling shoe worldwide and its the footwear choice of over 65% of the Professional bowlers. The company entered the youth-infant bowling market in 1983 and now supplies the youth and infant segment as well as adult market.
